Most roles in journalism, in both print and other media, are not regulated in Canada ; therefore, individual employers in the publishing and communications industries set job requirements. Depending on the audiences for which they publish or produce material, employers require that journalists have a range of skills including research, interviewing, writing, rewriting, and reporting for broadcast. Journalists work primarily in newspaper and magazine publishing, or for broadcast on radio or television. Some may be specialists in particular fields or for particular audiences, and most are skilled in using a wide range of information and communications technology and software. |
